Although America is in full crisis-mode due to the COVID-19 pandemic, people are still moving in Arizona and across the country. Whether you’re moving from one apartment community to another, moving from a house to another house in town, or moving to another state, it’s important to hire the best Arizona moving company – one that is dedicated to protecting your health as well as your possessions.
Here at Sterling Interstate, we take the current health crisis very seriously, and we are taking every precaution to protect our staff and our clients when moving in Arizona and beyond. To protect our team and our clients we have implemented the following safety precautions as outlined by the CDC and the WHO.
No Hand-Shakes or Other Physical Contact
In order to comply with social distancing measures, our staff will not have any physical contact with each other or clients. That means they won’t shake your hand when they arrive and leave and will maintain a minimum of six feet between each other and clients.
Protective Gloves
Our staff wears gloves to handle your items during your Arizona move to protect you from potential infection. We have taught our staff proper glove-wearing techniques because the virus can still be transmitted while wearing gloves. Our staff must first thoroughly wash and sanitize their hands with a sanitizer that is at least 60% alcohol. Next, they must put on clean gloves that have not come into contact with anyone or anything. They are instructed to never touch their face or shake hands while wearing the gloves. They know they must dispose of them in a trash receptacle and immediately wash and sanitize their hands again afterwards.
Sick Staff Must Stay Home
When it comes to the health and safety of our clients, we are taking zero chances. Our staff knows that they must stay home at the first warning sign of any illness, in fact, we encourage this. Even if it just seems like they woke up with a minor cold, they are not allowed to come to work. We have backup staff in place to ensure we can still move our clients even in the event of staff calling in sick. So you can rest-assured you will be safe during your move.
Things You Can Do to Protect Yourself (and Us) During a Move in Arizona
Although we have protective measures in place to protect you as the client, there are things you can do to help ensure a safe and healthy move for everyone involved. We ask you to please do the following:
If you feel sick, call us know so we can discuss the ramifications to all parties involved
Sanitize counters, door and cabinet handles and other high-touch surfaces the morning of your move
Maintain a distance of at least six feet from our staff at all times
Wash and sanitize your hands as often as possible throughout the moving process
We know this is a tumultuous time – everyone is figuring things out as they go. We are keeping up with all the latest information coming out of the CDC and the WHO to ensure we are protecting you and our staff to the best of our abilities.
